My dad's side of the family was from Herminie, PA, and he grew up there. His great grandfather John George Struble came from Germany in 1817 and bought the farm that my dad grew up on. Nowadays it has been sold off and the elementary school sits on some of the ground, and Crab Apple Lake Park sits on some, as well as some ball fields. Another one of my dad's great grandfathers was Rev. Henry Wineland who gave part of his farm for his church (burnt down) and the Wineland Grove Cemetery across from Crab Apple Lake Park at Herminie, PA. I have distant relatives all over Westmoreland County.
